The Punch Tavern in Central London (famous for their home made British food) is supporting British Troops during British Food Fortnight 2009. The Punch Tavern is encouraging customers to be proud of their regional food and to recognise the efforts of our troops in Afghanistan and their families.
Between Mon 21st Sept and Sat 3rd Oct, the Punch will be offering ’2 for 1′ on selected meals with the option of paying full price with the amount of the second meal going to the newly-formed charity ‘Afghan Heroes’. The offer can be obtained by showing a British Flag, if you don’t have a flag, they will be selling flags for £1 with all the proceeds going to the charity too.
The menu available for the offer will include Head Chef Dee Whooley’s award winning British Pies and Roast Carvery that change daily. The team at the Punch roast their own meats and hams and make their own pies, burgers, salads, chutneys, terrines and puddings. They choose to use some of London’s best suppliers who source meat from UK farms.
