        Hi

We have been having a issues with the reserve list confirmation page. If you received your email containing the link to the confirmation page but had trouble logging in then please go here:

        http://afghanheroes.org.uk/bikersevent.asp

and use the email/bike reg combination instead. This will only work if you use the same email address and reg that you originally signed up with. It should work fine now.

        Regards

Frustrated folk-Typical balls up by my shambolic disorganisation, meant that I joined the reserve list a few days ago, but got accepted today. First attempt to register failed-’invalid e-mail and bike reg’ (and I know I know at least one of them at any one time), so emailed the nec address, and tried again a couple of hours later and its OK. Hint- watch the gaps in your bike reg, are they the same as your original?ie A111BBB or A111 BBB-might make a difference?. Safe riding.

I hope you don’t get too many like “szafran” who intend to turn up registered or not and to get “shirty” if turned away. All this will do is cause trouble and make organisation difficult. This is an event designed to show support and respect for our troops as well as an opportunity to raise cash. The publicity could be positive for biking as well. Any stupidity will reinforce the view that people who ride motorcycles and trouble will always be found in the same place.

Congratulations to whoever thought up this money making idea. I am one of those very disappointed bikers (with pillion) who would have loved to join this spectacle, but left it too late!
Due to the massive response to this bike ride out and the very large number of riders who missed the boat, hasn’t anyone suggested the obvious! A ride out every month (with different venues, around the country) would generate much more funds for our heroes! I’m sure that this type of fund raiser would’nt take anymore organising than any other charity event. This would produce a regular fund pot every month!
You can put my name down for the first regular event, and many of my friends who have missed out today!

    Good luck everyone, BE SAFE!

    Kind regards

    Steve

Huge thanks to all the people who made this happen. Even bigger thanks to the people of Wootton Bassett and the surrounding villages who greeted us all so warmly. I wonder, do they realise that this, for me anyway, was to thank thank them for carrying our nation’s grief when our hero’s come home, and to thank all our millitary personel wherever they are. I rode with my son, this made the ride even more poignant, my child was with me, so many mum’s didn’t have that joy on Mother’s Day.

A big thank-you from myself & Brize Bike Club for an incredibly humbling ride-out. The whole day was well organised from the marshalling to the portaloos. Our thanks go out to all the organisers, the Police, the AA, etc. and especially to all the people that lined the road through the villages and in Wootton Bassett. Their clapping and waving reduced me to tears inside my helmet! We may have had to wait a couple of hours before we were moving, how long were they outside waving at the procession? That day made me proud to be a biker and proud to be British. Let us hope that the extensive TV coverage makes the government sit up and take notice.
