10,000 Boxes That Say Thanks

At the end of June, during the Thunder Rally 2010 event, the ‘home comfort’ ammo boxes were delivered to the troops at Camp Bastion. Below are some of the responses and thanks from recipients at the camp.

I just wanted to say thank you very much as I recieved your parcels today.

A truck load of boxes turned up at my door and put a big smile on my face. I was hoping that you would be able to pass on my thanks to those who helped, as some people did not write their address and I am trying to contact them to say thank you.

The soldiers were even more pleased than I was to recieve some goodies and I know they are currently tucking in to the sweets and enjoying the puzzle books.

Once again I would like to thank you for your generosity

Just a short email to say ‘Thank You’ from Afghanistan. The boxes were delivered today and everyone was very pleased to see them. The boxes from you are very welcome, and I am sure troops across theatre are all as grateful as we are for the time and effort that has been spent to deliver the boxes. An e-mail from Andy Wheeler
The box was brilliant.

All the blokes in my unit loved them, some of them more excited about the ammo tin itself than what was inside! Easily pleased I guess.

Thank you so much for the Heroes Boxes – arrived today in Kandahar. It does make a huge difference to us out here to receive the contents and to know that we are being thought of in the UK during our tours.
